The International Association of Agricultural Economists (IAAE)
The IAAE is a worldwide confederation of agricultural economists and others concerned with agricultural economic problems, including problems related to the use of renewable resources and the environment. Its broad goal is to “make a difference” through:
- Fostering the application of agricultural economics to improve rural economic and social conditions
- Advancing knowledge of agriculture’s economic organization.
- Facilitating communication and information exchange among those concerned with rural welfare.
Membership is open to all who have an interest in making such a difference!
The New Agriculturalist Magazine (free)
This is a most informative and wide-ranging magazine on agriculture worldwide, but with a definite leaning towards developing countries. The magazine has sections on the current relevant news, points of view by guest authors, “focus on” section, perspective, book reviews, photo reports, worldwide conference diary, development reports, useful country profiles (a different country each issue), download facilities, very good search facility and back issues section. There is no subscription and you can sign up for email notification when a new issue is published. Excellent, well worth a visit!
The AgriCultures Network
The AgriCultures Network builds and shares knowledge on small scale family farming and agroecology.
The AgriCultures Network has members all over the world: Brazil, China, India, the Netherlands, Peru and Senegal. The ILEIA office in The Netherlands functions as the secretariat of the network.
For 30 years we have been producing regional and global magazines on sustainable farming, reaching about a million readers globally today. In addition, we support the systematisation of practical experiences and do advocacy to promote family farming and agroecology.
