The 18th IFMA Congress organisers – the New Zealand Institute of Primary Industry Management (NZIPIM) – are planning a fully traditional IFMA Congress with all the usual activities and more! A warm welcome awaits all who attend.

Welcome Reception
On the Sunday evening following registration.
Plenary Speaker Program & Panel Sessions
A comprehensive program of speakers and panel sessions on the Monday, Wednesday and Friday of the congress. A draft Agenda for the congress is available on the website.
Contributed Papers
Around 120 papers and posters are expected to be submitted for the congress. Coming from around the world these will be in both academic “Peer Review” and practical 'Case Study' (non-peer review) forms, as well as Posters.
The Call for Papers and Posters was announced in May 2010.
The basic details are –
Papers should be relevant to the theme and fit within the following sub themes:
1. The Environment
2. Education & Training
3. Farm Management
4. Business & Finance
5. Marketing & Trade
6. Innovation & Leadership
At least one author of a paper must register to attend the congress.
The final date for submitting a paper or poster is 30th September 2010.
The final date for notification that a paper or poster has been accepted will be 30th November 2010.
The final date for an author to Register for the Congress and be given a presentation slot for their paper is 20th December 2010.
The organisers request that authors use the MS Word contributed paper templates (Peer Review, Non-Peer Review and Poster) available for downloading from the ‘Call for Papers Page’ to prepare and submit their paper. They are particularly keen to receive non-peer review (case study) practical papers from farmers, farm managers, advisors and consultants involved in the industry.

All presented papers plus the poster abstracts will be published in CD Rom and Book forms, and in due course will be added to the IFMA website for worldwide 'open' access.
Day Tours - Field Trips
Farm and other visits are organised for the Tuesday and Thursday of the congress. Full details are on the website.
Accompanying Persons’ Program
As usual accompanying persons (APs) are also being looked after with a special program of visits on the Monday and Wednesday and are invited to participate in the Day Tours on the Tuesday and Thursday, as well as joining in the Social Programme.
Social Programme
In addition to the Welcome Reception on Sunday, banquets with entertainment on the Tuesday and Thursday evenings are included in the full delegate and AP programmes.
Pre Congress Tour – South Island
Sunday 13th March to Saturday 19th March - details are available for downloading from the congress website. To book for the tour select it when registering for the congress - a deposit secures a place.
Post Congress Tour - North Island
Sunday 26th March to Friday 1st April - details are available for downloading from the congress website. To book for the tour select it when registering for the congress - a deposit secures a place.
Registration
Registration is open. You can register online on the website or by using a downloadable registration form. With either method you can pay by credit card or by bank / wire transfer.
Accommodation.
Details and costs of all the hotels and motels close to the congress venue are now available on the congress website and can be downloaded.
