Outgoing Hon. Secretary / Treasurer – Tony King
Tony was born a farmer’s son in Kenya. He attended the Royal Agricultural College in Cirencester, England. He has worked as a farm manager, first on a commercial farm in Norfolk (1964-1966), and then as farm manager, later Farm Services Manager, for Ciba Geigy (more recently Novartis & then Syngenta) on their research and demonstration farms near Cambridge, England (1967 – 1999). He played a major part in the organisation and technical aspects of the international Sprays & Sprayers Event.
He had an active role in the Institute of Agricultural Management both as the Branch Secretary for the Cambridgeshire, now Mid Anglia, Branch (1978-2011) of the Institute, and as the Conference Committee Chairman / Co-ordinator (1987-1998). From 1999-2010 he was the Conference Co-ordinator of the annual IAgrM / BIAC National Farm Management Conference.
Together with his wife Patricia, he has attended all the IFMA Congresses since 1993 (Budapest). He was the Programme Manager of the 10th IFMA Congress held in Reading, England in 1995. He took over as IFMA Hon. Secretary Treasurer from Philip James in August 2003
